Not real good, I have a stray dog that won't leave, been around my 92 year old mother's apartment about 2 weeks now, she can't take care of an animal, we have checked with everyone around that area, no one knows the dog, animal control has been called out twice and no sign of them, so I go get the dog and take it to your office, and they won't take it, what would Animal Control do with the dog if you had no room for it? It is a beautiful Hound dog, well trained, it would be a great hunting dog for someone that hunts. I took it there thinking the owner would check there to see if you had it, we are afraid it would get out on those busy roads and get killed. The dog is NOT chipped, I took it to my vet to have it checked.

The staff here was very friendly and patient with answering our questions! We fell for this little guy and they made sure we were able to get him! He was already neutered and up to date on shots and the adoption fee was very reasonable. We were very happy with our experience here and with the new addition to the family!

I want to start off by saying the front desk staff were phenomenal and extremely helpful in our adoption process. They spent a large amount of time with me and my partner to find our perfect baby. They were fun, silly, kind and patient with us the whole time! They made our experience wonderful. The only semi-negative thing I have to say is the hours were posted differently on 2 different sites and then at the front door there was a different time again (one said 10 am, the other 11 am and the front door said 12:30). So my partner and I had to wait a couple hours before going inside due to the sites not being updated. In addition to that, we had tried to call numerous times that day and no one answered the phone throughout the day, so that was a little frustrating. But overall, we had a good experience and we love our sweet boy. He got to go to a loving home and we hope all the other babies get adopted soon. Thank you to the staff who helped us! I can’t remember her name but she had colorful glasses and a shaved undercut with darker hair… I don’t remember your name, but I do remember your face and how awesome you were with us. Thank you so much ❤️

We adopted Gibson (now Mac) on 11/11 from these lovely folks! From the second we walked in, we felt like the people holding down the fort (literally- this day was SO busy for everyone involved) really and truly cared about us and the baby we decided to bring into our home. Mac is the sweetest, gentlest, smartest, eager to learn/please dog I've ever met in my life. He has been an absolute Earth Angel and I am so glad for the folks at the shelter for allowing us the privilege of caring for him. The folks at the shelter truly care for every animal that comes in the door, from the tiniest kitten to the biggest horse of a dog. They love every soul that requires a stay, and they give them the best care possible while trying to find them forever homes. Mac had been in the shelter for 280 days when we adopted him- the longest shelter resident at that current moment. When we met him, his eyes told us everything we needed to know about him. We were greeted by a young man (I didn't get his name but he was very enthusiastic about helping us find our baby and answering any questions we had! Tall young man with dark hair, you have no idea how much having Mac has enriched our lives!) and when we said who we were there for, every employee in the lobby was SO excited for him to find a forever home! Everyone who came into contact with us seemed to care for Mac, and his physical affection toward them showed the feeling was definitely mutual! The beautiful soul manning the front desk (again, I didn't get her name but she has cool hair and a lot of neat tattoos) was full of information about how the shelter worked, what Mac would need when he left with us, and our responsibilities as new pet parents. The shelter was absolutely slammed the day we came in, and she handled every person who came up to her with grace and understanding. She even delayed and possibly skipped her lunch that day to make sure everyone had what they needed! (I hope you got to eat your salad, honey! 💜) Finally, the woman that helped us get Mac's collar on (She wears glasses and was VERY polite, again, I didn't get her name)... She was so kind. I can't say enough good things. These fine folks work SO diligently to ensure these babies have good lives beyond the confines of the shelter, and I am honored that they allowed us to provide one for our sweet Mac. He's only been here 5 days and already we cannot picture life without him. Also, just in case his previous owners come across this post- know that he is loved beyond measure. He gets treats every day, hour long walks, enrichment, and has a 5 year old boy (and a cat sister he hasn't met yet) to play with. Thank you, truly, for making the tough decision to re-home him. I can tell by the amount of tricks he knows, that he was loved. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to love him and to provide the home I know you dreamed of for him. He is the sweetest boy. 💜 We named him after Fleetwood Mac, because on the day we adopted him, "Don't Stop" came on Spotify. Looking towards the future while honoring your past seemed fitting for our beloved boy. Thank you for teaching him the joy of a couch snuggle. His snores are music to my ears. If you're his previous owners and would like to keep updated on him, feel free to email me and I will send you pictures! The more people who love him, the better. Finally, thank you, ECAS staff for keeping our boy safe. Thank you for giving him love, tending to his health needs, and soothing his anxieties. I know he had a tough time with kennel stress while he was there- take comfort in knowing he's only kenneled at night. He has free roam whenever he wants to go, and that means he's halfway in my lap and snoring 98% of the time. The sheet that the volunteer who took him on his day out in October typed up was absolutely insightful into his personality, so thank you for that as well. You were right. He doesn't steal socks or remotes, he doesn't take anything off the counter, he doesn't care about the vacuum or have accidents. He is a super good boy. 💜

I visited about a week ago to adopt a friend for my young golden retriever and found Frank looking for a new home. The two have become the closest of companions in such a short time! The facility was remarkably clean, and the staff was superb. I could tell right away that the animals were regularly handled and shown plenty of attention and affection!

All the dogs were lovely, I volunteered here a couple of times and the staff are very helpful and amazing at what they do. The animals they have all are treated with love and kindness and are fed and walked properly everyday. And they are all labeled and have the necessary information outside their kennel so that the potential new owner can have as much information on the animal before adopting them. Thank you guys for everything you do for the dogs and cats!

Went last Thursday and fell in love with this little guy. During the adoption process we were told that he was on antibiotics because of sneezing and a cough. They informed us that he only has had one dose and they couldn’t give us the rest of his medication to take with us and advised us to go to the vet to get a prescription. Well got him to a vet 4 days later and he was diagnosed with kennel cough. This is highly contagious and is from sharing things like toys, bowls, beds, etc with infected animals. And yes it can be passed to humans as well. I am extremely unsatisfied with the lack of information and care of these animals. I know they knew exactly what was wrong with him and probably just wanted to push him out so they didn’t have to be bothered with him. I have tried to reach out to a supervisor and suggest that dogs may shouldn’t be eligible for adoption till they at least finish their treatment, seeing that it took me 4 days to get an appointment. And I have yet to get a call back from a supervisor. I pray for these caregivers and the animals that are suffering. Please if you adopt, be ready for anything because the shelter will not tell you how sick or the issues they may have.

Adopted a 4 month old kitten from here and within the first few hours of having him at home noticed he was not eating and was vomiting and peeing a lot of blood. Either they didn't notice which indicates severe lack of attention to the animals or they didn't tell me he was sick. Be very careful before you adopt here, especially if you have other pets at home who can contract these illnesses.
